01What ASTRA-Q is
ASTRA-Q is an experimental quantitative research system developed by Answer North. It is built around a simple rule: a strategy is not valuable because a model likes it. It becomes interesting only after the evidence has tried to break it.
Its governing sequence is an ordering constraint, not an optimization target:
The order matters. AI-assisted discovery does not come first. Returns do not come first. Live capital does not come first. The chassis has to earn the right to move forward.
02The operating loop
- Observe — ingest point-in-time market and fundamental data with deterministic provenance and certified cutoffs.
- Hypothesize — form explicit, preregistered signal ideas instead of retrofitting stories to returns.
- Challenge — use placebos, external oracles, controls, and adversarial review to seek disconfirmation.
- Validate — stress the surviving idea across time, exposures, costs, neutralization, and walk-forward tests.
- Execute — move only qualified research into simulation and execution under explicit capital constraints.
The methodology behind this loop — experiment registration, evaluator freezing, evidence custody, and the capital-path gates — is documented as it is published. A dedicated ASTRA-Q methodology page is in preparation.
03Authority is staged
Research capability is not paper-trading authority, and paper authority is not live-capital authority. The current governance state:
The final line is not a roadmap delay disguised as governance. It is the governance state, and the system itself enforces it.
04Selected internal validation milestones
*Internal research figures shown as development milestones, not audited investment-performance claims and not a solicitation to invest. Each milestone will be tied to a published, reproducible validation report before it is presented as more than a milestone.
